TOPIC: New books on Life Cycle Costing, Sustainability...

New books on Life Cycle Costing, Sustainability... 1 year ago #17066

Here are a few new books on life cycle costing, sustainability and climate change I came across that might be of interest:

1) Swarr, T.E., D. Hunkeler et al., Environmental Life Cycle Costing: A Code of Practice (2011), Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. About 90 pages. www.setac.org. Though light on energy accounting, this book provides methodology ideas and examples for Life Cycle Costing.

2) Wells, Geoffrey, Sustainability in Australian Business: fundamental principles and practice (2011), John Wiley and Sons Australia, Ltd. About 70 pages. Though written for an Australian audience, this small book contains an accessible introduction to sustainable business, including sustainable production (with a brief case study on Nokia). This is a better introduction than many I have seen, and I regret that I have to return it to the library (despite that libraries are excellent examples of resource-sharing).

3) Beever, Erik A. and Jerrold L. Belant, Ecological Consequences of Climate Change: Mechanisms, Conservation, and Management (2012), CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, Boca Raton. About 300 pages. This book is primarily for biologists and ecologists, but written in an accessible manner. If you are interested in specific ecological impacts of climate change and can live with a few technical terms, you may find this book interesting. I have always found learning more about ecology to be rewarding.

EDIT to add a few more books (before I return them to the library):

Last Edit: 12 months ago by Mark Ciotola, J.D.. Reason: Added more books.
