TOPIC: Learning Unit for Information Technology

Learning Unit for Information Technology 1 year, 6 months ago #16611

I happened to be helping the IT course in our pre-university to develop a syllabus and one of the topic happens to be about "Future Technology" or similar. I think this would be a great platform to introduce technocracy especially in term of technology. Perhaps you guys have some idea on how I can shape the syllabus to convey the idea of technocracy and somehow passively make them interested in technocracy. (Be noted that this topic is only a 1 hour lecture and I have to include other future technology too.)

Also, since I'm to develop the topic for that LU, I am also asked to create a PBL trigger for that LU. Again, a good place to discreetly introduce technocracy.

Suggestions are highly welcomed.

My initial idea is to include something that revolves around the idea of Cybernetic City or Automated Farm.
Take it easy, ya?

I would look at distributed AI which you link in to automated transport systems and robotics. That would give a foundation to understanding holonic / multi-agent systems and then the type of resource allocation we use in EOS.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is the ideas defined in:
www.eoslife.eu/articles/26-infrastructur...information-exchange

It involves technologies that are hip at the moment and should be easy to relate to by anyone in IT studies because it could theoretically be implemented right now. On the other hand, because it is easy to relate to, it may not have the same futuristic feel to it and be less inspirational.
