TOPIC: Shovels

Shovels 5 years, 11 months ago #1814

I cannot understand all those arguments that the proto-tech could be injected as an ordinary autonomous commune, with a group of idealists tirelessly working with shovels and primitive tools to survive. I mean, people must have something to win to wanting to be a part of the project.

I am not a dogmatic either, but it talks about one of the fundamental foundations of technocracy, namely the theory of thermodynamic growth, and focuses too much on man-hours.

Shovels would be used to dig foundations, drainage ditches, landscaping, and wells, all primary requirements to building housing and a community.

After we have buildings up, people living there, producing income, then I'm sure we could afford money for JCB's for futher building work.

If we are expecting to go in armed with JCB's to start off with, our budget will have to be higher to start off with.

At the end of the day, what we can raise in say a ten year period, may dictate for us which approach we can afford.

I know what shovels are used as.

Yes, and we should get that bigger budget as well. We should start putting deadlines. At least 1100 euro at the end of this year in our deposits, I say. Otherwise, I will resign.

We do not have personnel either.

I think we should aim for automation as much as possible from the beginning. We may not have the ability to introduce automation at the start but we should automat as much as we can as soon as we can.

Yes, and for that, we would need a financial plan to see how much we could afford.
